Colonial Cottage This cottage was built in 1858 and is typical of the homes of the majority of early settlers who came out to New Zealand at that time. The cottage remained in the hands of the Wallis family, who had first built it, until 1977. It is now maintained by the Wellington City Council for the public to visit and is furnished as a typical pioneer home. Criterion Window, Napier This design is from a window in the Criterion Hotel. The hotel was designed by Ernest Williams as part of Napier's reconstruction following the great earthquake of 1931.
